Community Health Needs Assessments

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act includes a mandate that non-profit hospitals conduct a community health needs assessment every three years and implement strategies to address unmet needs. Practically speaking, every hospital should undertake this strategic exercise to maximize opportunities for increasing or maintaining market share.

Based in the Atlanta suburb of historic Roswell, The Strategy House was founded by Dan Beall and Bob Limyansky in 1989 to provide results-oriented planning to healthcare organizations. With experience in the healthcare industry that goes back more than 25 years, Dan brings visionary and strategic insight to strategy development. Over his career, Dan has worked with more than 250 different healthcare organizations on strategy and planning engagements. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a master's degree in Management and a concentration in Finance. Additionally, he earned a master's degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky and a bachelor's degree in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Emory University.

He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Hospital Association.

Dan's recreational interests include swimming laps, working on a new painting or just kicking back at the lake with his wife.

Robert M. Limyansky

Partner

Bob's technical analyses and industry insights allow clients to create realistic plans that ensure successful strategy execution. Bob has also provided expert testimony in about 100 CON and regulatory appeals in AL, KY, GA, NY, OH, OK, SC, TN and VA. This constant "peer review helps him provide thoroughness to his other planning projects while remaining focused on key issues. Bob graduated from Cornell University with a master's degree in Public Administration and a Sloan Certificate in Hospital and Health Services Administration. He was also a Herbert H. Lehman Graduate Fellow in Public Affairs. He received his bachelor's degree, cum honore, in Sociology from Washington University in St. Louis where he studied demography and computer modeling. He interned at the Greater St. Louis Health Systems Agency (Missouri and Illinois) in both the CON/1122 Review and Health Planning sections.

Bob is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Medical Group Management Association and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.

In Bob's down time you're likely to find him in cooking classes with his wife, skiing with his son, using power tools with his daughter, running with his dog or planning his next travel adventure. He is in Oshkosh, WI every July for the Experimental Aircraft Association fly-in and convention.

Kevin A. Kimbell

Senior Analyst

Kevin offers analytical support for all of our consulting engagements including strategic planning projects, Certificate of Need applications, market assessments, medical staff development plans and Community Health Needs Assessments. He provides research, data collection and analysis, mapping and survey development. Kevin received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Kevin is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys watching Georgia Tech football, cheering for the Braves, working out, and trying to improve his golf game. He also enjoys fishing out on the lake and hunting in the Georgia pines.
